Historic All-Women Police Contingent for PM's Event

India is set to witness a remarkable moment as an all-women police force is tasked with securing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's event in Gujarat's Navsari district on March 8, 2025. This initiative marks the first of its kind in the country and coincides with International Women’s Day, sending a strong message about women's roles in safety and security. Announced by Gujarat’s Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi, this initiative not only highlights women’s capabilities but also their significant contributions to the nation’s security framework.

Over 2,300 women from various ranks in the police force will be on duty that day. The team will include 2,145 constables, 187 sub-inspectors, 61 inspectors, 16 deputy superintendents of police, 5 superintendents of police, and eminent officers such as an Inspector General of Police and an Additional Director General of Police. Their tasks will range from overseeing PM Modi’s arrival at the helipad to ensuring tight security for his route and the event venue itself. The operations will be supervised by IPS officer and Home Secretary Nipuna Torawane, ensuring seamless coordination.

Empowering Women Financially at the *Lakhpati Didi Sammelan*

The main attraction of the day will be the *Lakhpati Didi Sammelan*, an event designed to promote financial independence among women. PM Modi is expected to address a crowd of over 1.5 lakh women, sharing insights and encouragement for self-help groups. This gathering serves as a platform to empower women economically, with nearly ₹450 crore allocated to assist 2.5 lakh beneficiaries across Gujarat. It’s a significant stride towards enhancing women’s roles in both domestic and economic spheres.

Gujarat’s Home Minister Harsh Sanghavi stressed the symbolic nature of the initiative, showcasing the state’s unwavering commitment to women’s empowerment and security. During the event, PM Modi is anticipated to laud this all-women police deployment as a shining example of *nari shakti*, or women power, orchestrating a larger narrative of gender equality and progress.

In addition to the security deployment, PM Modi revealed an inspiring plan to transfer his social media presence to women achievers on Women’s Day. This initiative aims to amplify the voices of those who have made significant contributions in their fields, allowing them to share their compelling stories and inspire others across the nation.
